Function & Safety Testing

Camden has multiple instrumented Function and Safety Test Facilities. Each test facility is fully instrumented for multiple channel digital data acquisition for a wide variety of test requirements. These Facilities are designed for stand–alone efficiency, allowing simultaneous testing of multiple requirements or multiple customers – including customer offices with wireless internet access and conference facilities.

Some of the features available include: Customized ballistic software, ballistic radar, digital high–speed video imaging, real–time and triggered meteorological data, digital targeting, and portable temperature conditioning chambers and ammo storage.

Insensitive Munitions Testing

Arena Testing

NTS Camden performs characterization of warheads and weapons for fragmentation, blast overpressure, and fragment velocity and dispersion. These tests are conducted for developmental, qualification, first article (FAT) and lot acceptance (LAT). NTS tests according to JMEM and ITOP specifications, or to tailored requirements and methodologies. Lethality and vulnerability targets and components can be tested, including aircraft and vehicles.

Hazard Classification Testing

Classification and performance testing of ordnance and packaging is performed according to DoD, United Nations, and Department of Transportation standards. These include TB700-2/8020.8, UN Transport of Dangerous Goods, and 49 CFR. Thermal Stability, 12 m Drop Testing, External Fire, Slow Heating, Stack Testing, and Proof of Packaging (POP) test are some of the tests offered. NTS Camden is a DOT approved POP test source, and can provide this testing for fiberboard, metal, wooden, and composite packaging, complete with certified report and package markings.
